KEY PROJECT EXPERIENCE | Justin France
Brookside | Wellingborough
Commercial | 5,294 sqm
The client for this project is a UK-based partnership that specialise in transforming disused, brownfield sites into modern commercial property developments.
They focus on the creation of units which are suitable for start-up businesses, rather than the proliferation of larger commercial units in the area.
A site located on the outskirts of Wellingborough which, as the name implies, was the home of a former car garage and workshop. Recently cleared by the existing owners, they engaged Scroxton & Partners to carry out the demolition works and prepare a feasibility study in order to redevelop the site for both commercial and residential and to assess the correct sale value for the site.
Hatton Avenue | Wellingborough
Developer Residential | 2,151 sqm
Development of an infill site part of a small development of five properties. The site is located in the centre of Wellingborough and as such benefits from a wide range of community facilities. The project was designed with clearly designated public and private spaces. The use of fences, soft landscaping and changes in the floor finish help to define one property to the next.
Common themes have been used throughout the landscape design to create a micro-community beyond the realms of the immediate sense of ownership. This will further strengthen the sense of identity helping to foster community spirit. The design is lifetime homes compliant. Lifetime Homes are ordinary homes designed to incorporate 16 Design Criteria that can be universally applied to new homes at minimal cost.
Ye Corner | Watford
Developer Residential | 1,180.5 sqm
The project will create 19no. contemporary apartments within two buildings. The entire site will also be landscaped to regenerate the whole site into an asset for the area which will encourage the restoration and modernisation of the surrounding buildings. The site is nestled in behind large three storey commercial and residential buildings which have windows that overlook the site. There is also a listed building and a couple of locally listed buildings located in close proximity of the site.
